Im going to Corfu on 29th June, and am going to hold out.

To be honest, I only take a few hundred euros for the first couple of days and will just withdraw from my debit card, as you usually get a slightly better exchange rate.

Yeah I do the same. Going Majorca for five days so will take a hundred with me then get the rest on my card over there.

I think I will hold out myself and keep an eye on it.

So experts what do I do??

Do I get my Euro's now or do I gamble and see if they go past the 1.20 mark. I'm due to go on holiday at the end of this month :)

    Euro rout,collapse?

If Latvia drops it's peg (which is starting to look inevitable), that may be the spark that sets off the tinderbox.

no offence, but even if you took £1000 with you, the difference is only the cost of a couple of beers. Is it worth fretting over?

It's not just the Euro that Sterling is strong against, so I think we can safely say that this rally is as much about sterling strength as it is about Euro weakness.

It's also risen sharply against the greenback and a whole host of Asian currencies. The only currencies it hasnt done so well against is the Aussie and Kiwi dollars, but there are some specific reasons for that.

It's hardly surprising. The UK economy is weak, but it's less weak than many others. Ergo, it's relatively strong.

Sterling was massively oversold in late 2008, early 2009. Now we are once again approaching relative fair value.
