What's the best 5 year fix at the moment??

Thanks, moneysupermarket and also the RBS/Natwest sites both have N/A next to valuation and legal fees.

Thanks, I hadn't looked at the remortgages only buying a house.

I think the 5 year fix for house purchases is 4.59% but you would have to pay the legals and valuation (not sure how much). I have just got off the phone arranging the 5 year fix 4.69%. I will stay on the Cheshires 2.5% for the next 3 months then switch to the fix.

I feel a bit better now this is out of the way :j

I've been looking at 5 yr deals over the past few days and have found:
Abbey 4.99 no fees
natwest 4.69 - 279 fee free legal and val
Mansfield 4.59 - 999 fee
Chelsea 4.50 - 999 fee
Brittania 4.44 - 990 fee
Post office 4.45 - 599 fee
RBS 4.59 - 299 fee
Alliance and leic 4.89 no fees

I think that's all of them

The newly launched HSBC rate matcher may be worth considering. Max borrowing 250,000 came in at 75% LTV a rate of 4.45% (£499 fee) plus valuation and legals. I personally went for the rate they just pulled : 5 year fixed £999 fee at 4.39%. I am moving home though.
