Group Bank Account Help??!!

Hello Everyone

Me and my friend have just set up a non-profit crafting group in our local area and we have been looking into getting some funding for advertisment, tools etc... Anyway we have 5 funders that are willing to give us some funding, so we done all the application forms and at the bottom it says you need a bank account which is in the group's name....So I rang them and they said you need to go to a bank and open a Treasurers/non profit bank account........???

Well does anyone know which banks offer these accounts??
Also do you need to pass a credit check as my credit rating is bad, but friend's is not??

Anyone can help us that will be brillant, thanks in advance

Not any more, used to better informed but then all these banks merged and changed their names and I don't know what else ...

My advice would always be to contact local banks which are convenient to use if you are ever going to want to withdraw or pay in cash. If you don't have any local banks, ask at the local Post Office, because I know Alliance and Leicester used to run an account which I found very good at the time - specially for Clubs and Societies.

Thanks for the information, my bank has set up a appointment for me for tommorow to go and see someone about a Treasuers account.
