Probate Hearings

Any advice welcomed, father died suddenly in Dec 08, left no will, applied to probate for administration, being challenged by estranged family member who had no relationship with father for 43 years. Instructed solicitor but very slow going, want to know if estranged family member can get costs paid from estate and from anyone who has experienced a probate hearing. Cheers

what relation is the 'estranged' family member. I'm guessing brother or sister. How much was the estate worth?
Dont knw the answer to your question I'm afraid but i would be intereste to find out when someone in the know comes along.
My common sense is telling me that they would be responsible for their own costs but i really dont know the legalities.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
