Hi, my twin girls are four weeks now, and I've only just managed to start being able to feed them at the same time, up until now they both needed another hand to attach them properly. I find sitting on a chair with arms helps take some of the weight off - also attach the poorer feeding twin first. Make sure you have the telly on a channel you want, its difficult to move! I wouldn't feed the both of then in public at the same time, i feel a bit exposed.

PS. I don't know if its feeding twins, or just i'm a greedy so and So, but i am ALWAYS hungry !!!!

A friend of mine breastfed her twins. She had a 3 seater sofa and she used to take the middle cushion out. She would then sit on that bit with her arms using the two cushions either side of her to support the boys.

The other thing she did was use the left breast exclusively for one baby and the right breast for the other. Every week, she would swap the baby onto the other breast. She did this because one baby seemed stronger at sucking and she always felt that the milk supply was better on the side the strong twin had been on. By swapping every week, the twin with the slower suck could benefit from the extra milk that the stronger twin had made iyswim

    Good luck.

I breastfed my twins for about 6 months. When they were small, I breastfed them at the same time, rugby ball fashion to save time. As they got a bit bigger I then swapped to feeding them one at a time. You do feel like a diary cow - my dad said as much one day when he walked in at feeding time!
I found it easier to allocate them a breast each, rather than swapping around. They soon settled at 'their' allocated breast and went for it. The downside was that I did end up with uneven breasts for the whole time that I was feeding, due to one baby having a larger appetite than the other - it was a small price to pay for the convenience!
You're right about being hungry all the time - I was eating 3 proper meals a day and snacks in between.

I breastfed my twins until 10 months, by which time they could drink from a cup. I never used bottles at all. It was difficult to position them at first, when I most needed to feed them at the same time. Lots of cushions, and a helper if possible to hand you the second one, would be my recommendation. I had no trouble with milk supply and I didn't really feel a lot hungrier, but I became very thirsty. I never fed them both in public, as it is a lot easier to discreetly feed one than two!
PPI on Natwest loan, Barclayloan, MBNA credit card, and Mortgagecare all repaid just for asking in 2012/2013!

Barclaycard - PPI refund refused 26/01/13, ombudsman upheld 12 May 2014, Barclays resisted until March 2015 - FOS say Barclays are calculating an offer, they have 8 weeks.

    Hi,

I BF my twins for a year. I had a daughter of 23 months when they were born. I think if I hadn't had experience of BFing before I might not've managed it as it is very time consuming. I couldn't feed mine at the same time as one would stop before the other and I couldn't burp one and keep the other one latched on. My twins were 5 weeks early and it took them 2 weeks to get the hang of it. I used nipple shields for a while to get them attached propertly and then got rid of them when they got the hang of it. Hope all goes well.. good luck.
