Sporadic Payments From Large Company
Comments
-
Having a Customer that provides 90% of your work is not uncommon in the Construction Industry if you are a Ltd company. I would be more concerned though regarding IR35 and your employment status.
A few questions
Do you employ people yourself?
Do you use subbies yourself?
Do you Invoice or submit applications?
What CIS status are you?
Within this industry you are to some point at the mercy of the Main Contractor and payments are usualy on their payment terms! I assume you have multiple contracts with this Contractor? Each project will have a Project Manager and / Or Surveyor and it will be these people who authorise your invoices/Apps for payment, so get their e-mail addresses and chase them direct, the accounts dept will pay once the invoice/app ha been signed off.
there are specific regulations regarding payment of Applications and the terms of payment should always be in the Contract / Purchase Order that you signed and returned. So check these and remind the Surveyor of them as well. Remember Paid when Paid is now illegal!!Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
