Q about printing /copying

can anyone tell me the reason why that as lm almost out of ink ,if l copy a document on my printer/scanner it comes out faint but when l print a document off of word ect it comes out nice + black

sorry if its a silly Q but been puzzling me for weeks

also l have a dell photo 924 printer , does anyone know if l can get cheaper ink cartridges ,havnt found any yet that are compatable there must be some somewhere??

What quality setting are you using when scanning the document as this may have an affect on the quality of the print out.

If the copier is set to "light" then thats what you will get. If the document to copy is light blue in colour (or say yellow) it will also come out light. Are any settings set to draft? Re the Dell printer these tend to be rebadged Lexmarks and one I would avoid too expensive as you have found out <dump it soon>

Its probably to do with the contrast setting on the scanner.

I'm not familiar with the drivers software on a dell but it will be under the advanced control settings somewhere on the preview screen.
