JSA and Tax Credits

Hiya
My partner was recently made redundant and is claiming contribution based jsa. He expected payment today and it wasn't made - they say due to receiving tax credits.
I put a change of circs in for tax credits and the amount was increased but I thought this was based on him receiving jsa.
He spoke to tax credits and apparantly they have him down as being income based rather than contributions and to ring jobcentre back.
He has now been trying for about 4 hours to get through to jobcentre and I have been trying to ring tax credits to clarify what they told him (he doesn't always seem to get the information - its normally me that deals with the money!!!) and I can't get through to them either
I wondered if anyone knew where we stand regarding JSA and Tax Credits!
Thanks

Juliea

Unfortunately when switching from working tax credits to JSA there is a date overlap. JSA is paid in arrears and WTC is paid in advance so normally there is a period of time where the dates overlap so WTC is classed as income and the amount deducted from the weekly JSA amount for that period of time. I hope that makes sense.

If Income Based is claimed then so is Contribution Based - the amount paid should still be £64.30 as long as the conditions are satisfied.

    Thank you
The amount being paid is contribution based but tax credits people have got their information wrong and they have him as being income based. They said something to him about if it is income based you don't get so much tax credits. I never managed to get through to them to speak to this evening. I still work part time so dont think he can get income based
