Misleading Google Adverts for Printer Cartridges

I recently saw an advert on Google for Canon Printer Cartridges PG40 £11.95. at 999inks.co.uk
When I went to the site they were priced at £17.95 and were compatibles.
I complained to 999inks that their adverts were misleading and they offered me a generic Canon cartridge for the price advertised. I stressed the fact that I did not want compatible cartridges and agreed.
In the post came a compatible type cartridge which I never use (after the death of my last printer) and 999 inks would not answer any subsequent emails.
Beware of Google adverts - they are often misleading to draw you in!!

It's the fault of the advertiser (999 inks) not Google, though you could report the misadvertising to Google and they may take action against the advertiser, you'd need screen shots with proof.0

I suspect that the original ad price was an error (it isn't all that unusual to find this in google shopping ads).
The current advert is for £17.95 and you can see in the ad without even visiting the website that it says it's a remanufactured cartridge or £22.75 for originals.

Expecting to get originals for £11.95 seems to me to be pretty optimistic.0 -
.... they offered me a generic Canon cartridge
I'd expect a generic cartridge to be ...er...generic, not made by the original manufacturer/unbranded etc...
FWIW I have an epson printer which, in the 5 years or so that I've had it, has only seen original carts once...the set it came with..once I'd used a couple or 3 sets the savings effectively paid for the printer

Canon pg40 original cartridges are £14 ish on www.valueshop.co.uk , they used to be about £120

Someone from 999 inks was spamming earlier on this week. Obviously desperate for business. If it appears they are deliberately trying to mislead with reconditioned, refilled, non manufacturer products, then I would avoid them like the plague!Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0 -
If you have a copy of the original advert (unlikely I know but you might have saved it!) you could try reporting them to the Advertising Standards Authority
