cost of postage for a DVD in a DVD case

Hi I have a collection of DVD films that I will never watch again and are taking up room so I thought I would join Ebay and try to sell them. What would it cost to post the DVDs in their case and would it be sufficient to just wrap a piece of wrapping paper round the case or should I put them in a jiffy bag?
Also is there any other way I could sell them?
Thanks, Robert

2nd class 76p, 1st class 90p
amazon or play
use jiffy bags0 -
IMO, £1 would be reasonable for P&P. Stamp will be as before, jiffy bag 30-40p. You could probably even get away with charging £1.50, but for the 1st class service.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

on ebay dvd postage has to be free moneygrabber0

You can't actually charge postage on ebay for DVDs anymore. On Play and Amazon it is included in the sale price as well, so no real point in saying what is reasonable and what is not. All that matters is the actual costs as outlined in earlier posts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Before Free P&P was mandated, you could happily sell at £2 P&P and still maintain 4.7-4.8 on the start rating.
A lot of DVD's are just under the 100g mark when in a Mail-lite bag (Jiffys use thicker paper, denser bubbles and weigh a bit more!) so a 70p (ish) large letter stamp will cover it.
What i would say though, is unless you have some rarities in your collection (complete box sets of films trilogies/TV series) or deleted titles, you will find that some of the big blockbuster titles just will not sell - plenty of people have them already, or have them downloaded.
Cherryu pick the decent ones and sell them individually, but sell the rest as a job lot to a reseller. work on 100g per disc and calculate a price via Parcelforce or similar. You will earn a LOT more money selling them in bulk than wasting fees selling individually - and you can charge P&P on wholesale lots.
There are loads of naive bedroom traders who buy up collections of DVD's to resell individually, and they have a habit of getting into a bidding war so expect around £1.75 to £2.75 per disc when sold in bulk.
( I sold over 25,000 DVD's between 2005-early 2008 - I got out at the right time)<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Where could i get jiffy bags from, do the pound shop sell them0
-
Yeah poundshops usually sell them but i think they're making them a bit tighter fitting now. I usually have to really squeeze the dvd in without ripping the envelope.0

Poundland do 6 medium envelopes for a £1, strangely enough - and there's ample room for a dvd case.0
