Mine was quite quick... mind you, we are going back to around August 2008 when the original thread on here started. When I called them about something a few months ago, the guy I spoke to mentioned that they had over 2,000 people on the panel (they only have about 65 of each product to dish out).

My understanding is that they hadn't been taking people on since early last year, but saying that, some people on here seem to have joined the panel since then - not sure if that's for the in-house trials at the evaluation suite in Nottingham tho.

I've been signe up with Boots for about a year and have only had small surveys from. Never had anything to test for them.

Are you sure you dont meant the boots viewpoint which is only surveys?

This one you dont get surveys, you just log in each day and pick what you want to test.

I had an email from them - applied ages ago

"Belated Happy New Year wishes to all of you. We wanted to update you on the work we’re doing to improve the current volunteer website.

We are working with our IT colleagues to develop a new system enabling easier access and product visibility for you and allow us to take you all on as volunteers. Unfortunately this project is likely to take a couple of years to complete and we thank you for your patience whilst we move towards the new system.

The good news is that there will be some small improvements along the way that we will let you know about, the first of these is that we are able to take some more of you on as volunteers. This will be done in application order and we’ll be sending out documentation over the next few months, please look out for it in the post. If you don’t receive any paperwork at this time, please bear with us.

In the meantime, we’re currently conducting a number of pieces of research and will be emailing you soon asking for your views to various product types. The research does not require product testing, only the completion of a questionnaire, and is purely optional but any views you share will helps us develop new and improved products.
We recently started this work with a questionnaire about skin ageing and many of you responded, thank you for all your feedback. We will be contacting some of you to discuss your comments in more detail. The next areas for research are cosmetics and foot hygiene, please look out for the questionnaires.

Going forward we’ll be sending you an update on the progress of our new system and letting you know about any key pieces of work every 3 months, so watch this space!
