I noticed in the paper that Arnold Clark are doing a free summer safety check - it says that you can just drop in wihout an appointment. But on the website it says that you need to make a booking but couldn't find which option for this. Has anybody used this offer and if so what did you do - going to Skegness soon so would be useful to get car checked before I go.Thanks

I have used this but it was done on friday whilst my car was in getting fixed.

Your probably best just to call up your local branch, say your heard about the offer and would like to book your car in.

I'm sure in these hard economic times, most garages will welcome you giving them the chance of inspecting your car for faults and charging you to put them right.

I agree with Premier. They aren't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. If you do take them up, watch out for WD40 being sprayed on your shocks and then you being told they are leaking.

Don't waste your time on any of these free checks. IMO it's not much more than a scam.

The words "free" and "arnold clark" are rarely used together. The same as kwik fit "free checks" or national "free checks". Just ask your local friendly garage to do a thorough service next time (or when the MOT is due).

arnold clark, cowboys, avoid like plague.

i put my car in for water excess up through the sills. They got the apprentice to get a garden hose and spray it over the roof, for a whole 2days, lol.

im not too sure how the 'apprentice' managed to drop a jack on my car either but hey, anythings impossible, if you put your mind to it......

so after 2 days i ended up £30 quid down for courtesy car insurance, teeth mark from a jack or summit on my rear bumper.

The couresy car was a laugh aswell. a ford Ka with no clutch, nearly killed me on serveral occaisions. sitting at lights at a major junction then the car takes off itself and defiently marches into oncoming traffic.
