Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this.

I switched gas and electricty to Atlantic, from Powergen and British Gas respectively on the 4th of March.

I got the confirmation e.mail though saying I would be contacted by my current suppliers within 2 working weeks and to take a meter reading on given date of the switch.

Havn't heard a thing from anyone since.

I've emailed uswitch to check the progress and I've had a read receipt back but thats all.

Does it normally take longer than this period of time?

  • I am in the middle of a switch from Br.Gas Electricity to Atlantic using USwitch (via Quidco). It took about 3-4 weeks for Atlantic to send out a postcard to let you know they are in the process of switching. Then another 2 weeks before the actual transfer take place. You will need to ring them (freephone no. shown on postcard) on the transfer day to provide your meter reading.

Oh okay, I'm still within that timescale then. Its just that uswitch said two weeks, so I chased it up after that time had passed.

I don't like to think I'm paying Powergen prices when I'm surposed to be changing to someone cheaper.
