I had to re-apply for my license recently and did so through the above link. Pretty sure it took less than 2 weeks to come through.

Edit. It was the direct.gov link i applied through

Why didn't you get a new paper part 3 months ago?

Get your licence sorted out might take three weeks. Then get onto the court and ask for another date.
  • Phone the DVLA and order a new licence over the phone.

Tell them that you have lost both parts - stress both parts.

They will then post a duplicate within a week normally.

It still doesnt avoid the fact you failed to produce your licence however I am sure if you explain to the court you had lost it and have now replaced it they will simply admonish you.

The OP hasn't lost BOTH parts only the paper part!

He will need to apply for a duplicate licence, they will no simply post out a new one from a phone call.

Get you facts right before posting advice and don't advise others to lie to the DVLA.

Just had to apply for a replacement myself - Applied on the Internet and had it within 6 working days.

You should receive it well within time.

They will if you have lost both parts.

As for lying to the DVLA. I'm not suggesting that. I am just suggesting he accidentally drop the other part into a bin. Then they will save the hassle of forms etc and just get one on the phone.
