Ok I know that this topic has been the subject of many a debate, and as an ex writer I should know the answer to this question, but times have changed and I want to make sure that I have the correct information.
I am currently living with my OH who is Army, in our own house. He is due posting, (nothing received yet) We moved here at our own expense (not that this counts for anything - not yet married)
We plan to get married fairly soon and my understanding is that as long as we are married for 1 whole night before his new posting begins, we will be entitled to DA and Removals.
I am worried sick that he will get that wonderful posting abroad he's always wanted, and we will have to foot the bill to move ourselves!!!
Am I also correct in my understanding that the 'first move' rule would only apply if we wanted a MQ mid posting?
Thanks in advance.

Yes you are right - Service personnel who opt to move accommodation mid-assignment for personal reasons e.g. getting married are not entitled to removal of personal effects at public expense. As long as you are married and moving from your current residence into married quarters on his next assignment you should be entitled to DA and removals.
