Morning,
Laptop is in for repair at HP and it's taking FOREVER! (Read - it's been a week and I'm twitchy
)
I rang up today and apparently "We're working on it as we speak" which is funny because that's what they were doing on the 8th when I rang then too.
They've apparently found another 2 faults with it but he couldn't elaborate because he apparently didn't know, he was just a call center agent.
Keyboard - self explanitory because the enter key and space bar weren't working correctly.
Fan - again, self explanitory because it was overheating like mad, only had to press the power on button and the fans would be on full blast.
Now, the final two confuse me.
SPS (or SPF???) Heat Sync and BD System.
What are they please?!
Thanks xxx

ok for starters is it a dv series?
hp's are well renowned for overheating
sometimes its just general overheating due to their terrible ventilation and poor fan
but mostly its the GFX card overheating (nvidea)
yours sounds like the first tbh and they mentioned the heat sink which basically absorbs and dissipates heat from the processor and other components
as for sps or spf i cant think of what that would relate to in hardware?
anyways yes
a week isnt long at all
they say theyre looking at it when in actual fact it hasnt been looked at
wait another week before you get worried
where did you buy it from also?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Something, Probably F***ed?
Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
It's a HP G7093EA, it's pretty decent use wise but heating and the keyboard have been the bane if my life with it!
They were pretty decent last time, it was picked up on the Thursday and returned on the Tuesday after, I just use my laptop for so much and for so long every day that being without it makes me twitchy.
Esqui I love your reply! Very true
It definitley was something sounding like SPS/SPF though when I asked him to repeat it he couldn't understand me and said "Okay now. Okay. Bye bye!", hanging up before I could stop him. It's 0844 so I don't really want to ring again.
Thanks guys!0
