Vinyl flooring over newly laid adhesive-backed tiles?

We are refurbishing our main bathroom.
Before the tiler put the tiles on the walls I boarded the floor with ply and
laid some adhesive-backed floor tiles from Wickes.
The floor looks pretty good, even though I say it myself.
However the colour co-ordination between the new wall tiles and the floor tiles is not the best and my wife is thinking about us laying a more complementary coloured floor.
The floor tiles are solidly in place. No bathroom furniture has been installed just yet. Would I be right in thinking we could simply buy a sheet of vinyl and get it laid directly on the florr tiles without any problem?
The floor tiles are textured and not smooth.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The vinyl may well sink into the grout lines and show the textured edges? We have a vinyl floor and it has bumps all over it, from tiny bits of dust-slightly bigger than dust obviously, floor was swept and hoovered before. Its a cushioned vinyl from carpetright and its rubbish tbh, but thats just my experience with it, am sure other people may have different opinions. Other thing is-its not really ideal for wet areas-can warp with water0
