Resigned 3 days before redundancy - just bad luck?

    Called ACAS myself and used your situation as a hypothectical situation.

    They sais that there is no legislation to say that they have to inform you that you are at risk as soon as they know!

    If there are less than 20 redundancies then they could anounce Friday that you were at risk and actualy make you redundant the same day as that would be a "reasonable consultancy time" for less than 20 employees:eek:
    What have they said about retraction?

    I can't honestly believe putting someone at risk and making them redundant on the same day could be considered a "reasonable consultancy time" even if it is under 20 people. Is this due to the change in legislation in April I wonder?

    I have noticed that advisory bodies across the board seem to be less proactive helping the employee and accept actions by employers more readily since the recession has biten!

    Be that right or wrong??

    I was lucky years ago the company I was working made me redundant 20 mins before I handed my notice in and they still let me use the company car for my two week holiday in Europe.
