Well put it this way he'd better bloody not be! He's getting a Civic Type R for his birthday (officially) and doesn't know about this so I'm hoping it'll be a nice surprise! if he dares complain I'll kill him!!

Hey WOLFMAN,

I like the idea of installing XBMC on my old XBOX though I am concerned about disprupting my XBOX live membership on my 360 console. I would like to know how you get round this. Ideally I would like to use all the XBMC features like internet radio etc whilst not disrupting XBOX live for the 360. Do I need to get an original XBOX without the "live" dashboard installed to get around this problem.

Forza Motorsport is a great game for the original XBOX. Cannot wait till version 2 arrives on the 360.

there are no mods as yet for the 360 (bar I believe team xecuter finding a way to de-region the DVD).

Mods presently are only for xbox www.xbox-scene.com is a plethora of information

For the original xbox depending on hardware version there are some excellent 4th gen chips available - bung in a decent disk, burn a sLaYeR CD and enjoy

I'm guessing you've been on Live before with your Xbox, so if you install a new hard drive you'll need to reprogram the eeprom. There are tutorials regarding this.

As far as effecting your 360 I wouldn't know. I don't think it would but don't take my word for that.

Have a read around. https://www.xboxhacker.net and https://www.xbox-scene.com are two great places to start.

PS - Oh yeah Forza is another good game to get. Especially if you like driving games.

One came out recently. A group (6 people, The Specialist and a few others) have got round the dvd-firmware which is unsigned. I think they had to de-solder a module, and flash it with special hardware, so it's by no means "users" ready. By doing so it means you can fool the 360 into thinking the disc you have in the drive is signed. They've rightly not released it though as it can only benefit piracy (won't help with running homebrew).
