My Local Health Board tells me that the annual charge for a 12 Month Pre-Payment Certificate for NHS prescription charges drops to £43.09 from 1 April 2006 in Wales only.
The Health of Wales website today gives the charge as £57.46 - accurate to 31 March 2006.

The Welsh Assembly are dropping prescription charges in Wales and this will to be done by dropping the cost every year. :j0 -
            Welcome to the board Cheddington2001!!
yes all WP10 perscriptions will now be charged at £3 per item from yesterday. Has to be a Welsh registered Dr, so no popping over the boarder to collect perscriptions as was tempting previously. This includes under 25's e.g before under 25 could pop over to Wales and get their perscription free from a Welsh pharmacy. Now they would be charged the full English charge of £6.65.
By 2007 the aim is to have all pescriptions free for all Welsh patients.Good news eh?;)
