Currency In Turkey

I was there a year ago and cannot remember if they prefer turkish lira or euros - not even sure I took euros (I was in Egypt last year too so have got myself all confused ) help what do they like !

    turkish lira and change it there not here.
  • I went last year and they take Lira, Euros and English pounds!!! I'd change sterling up into Lira while you're out there, you'll get a better rate as they love sterling. Also make sure you keep some sterling as you can pay for certain things with this too.

    How funny - Egypt in January Turkey in May and back to Turkey again this May thinking about a cheeky cheapy in September somewhere this year
    maybe Canaries as should be nice
    Gonna take a small amount of Lira and take your sterling to change up there thanks for your help - awful that I just couldn't remember - not that I have loads of holidays but you get confused with who likes euros and who doesn't :rotfl:

    Take a fistful of Euros, most places accept them. Take 1 x £10 note for each person to pay for the visa at the airport. For Turkish Lira just draw them from a cashpoint at a bank (not other places I just don't trust them)
