Quick question, changing car insurance

Not sure this is in the right place, sorry

I am looking to change my car insurers..

Mine runs April to April (so I am late I know )

Can I change insurers at any time? .. or do I have to wait until next April?

and.. if I can change.. will it cost me to leave?

You can change at any time.

Depending on the company you are with, it may cost you to leave.

You can change at any time but

1) You will lose the time for NCD purposes
2) You will be charged short term rates so teh cover you have used will be expensive e.g. 2 months may be charged as 25% of your annual fee.
3) There may be an admin fee of up to £50.

So basically, it's onyl worthwhile if you can get a substantial discount.
Find out what it's going to cost you to cancel BEFORE you change.
