When I hover over the task bar it comes up and covers almost a third of the screen. The icons in it are now in a vertical line, rather than horizontal.
Can anyone tell me how to get it back to how it was. I've restarted the computer, but it is still the same. I'm running windows vista home premium.
Thanks

My guess would be it has somehow been resized.
To set it back how you want right click on it and click Properties, make sure 'Lock Taskbar' is unchecked (no tick) then click ok.
Hover the mouse over the top of the taskbar and it should turn into a two directional arrow (one pointing up, the other pointing down) Simply click and drag the taskbar down until it the size you require.Laptop: Asus X58L; 2Ghz Celeron M575; 1Gb RAM; Intel X3100 Graphic chip set; 120Gb Hitatchi HTS542512K; 15.4" Widescreen. Thanks for that, it is now back to how it was.

Glad to hear it, if you again right click and go to properties and check (so there is a tick) the 'lock taskbar' option then that should stop it being accidentally moved again in the future
