Change of address - who to tell ?

I'm sure this has been covered on the forums before but I've just done a search and can't find anything. Does anyone have a list of all the people you're supposed to tell about your change of address when you move house?

Thanks

Vic

Great site for helping you tell people is https://www.helpiammoving.com they have an automated letter/email generator so that you can let everyone from the tax man to the loyalty card know, what's even better is it's free.

I'm moving tomorrow and I used it to do all my letters in under half an hour.

I don't have a list but you can be sure when you do it won't be complete, I told the Royal Mail and got post redirected for 6months (I think) all the post that we forgot about was forwarded and we told them as things came up.

You can cancel the milk though, that won't be redirected by Postman Pat.

  • http://www.iammoving.com/ is another such site - linked to from https://www.royalmail.com

I know when we moved last May (where did that time go?) we had a list of things to change addresses on divided into "ahead of time" "as we move" and "after we move" and added to it as and when we thought of things.
There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't

In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice
