Can anyone recommend a seat belt suppliers who will supply damaged webbing? It's a slightly unusual vehicle so appreciate it will probably need measuring to be sure. Would prefer somewhere north/west, north midlands or south yorks. I know of one in Stevenage but it's too far to go.
Supply and fit would be best, but just supply would be fine.
Many thanks

Sorry, meant replace not supply. I've got damaged webbing, - damaged brain too at this end of the day!
Serves me right for editing and posting without previewing first. Sorry. Thanks for pointing it out to me.0 -

QUICKFIT SAFETY BELT SERVICES will be able to help you.
Unfortunately, they are slightly outside your preferred location.0 -
Thanks, I'll follow this up.

Securon will only replace the complete belt... not replace worn webbing.
You will find the following statement on their website...IMPORTANT:
If a Seat Belt (or Harness) shows signs of wear & tear or abuse the complete Seat Belt must be replaced.
Seat Belts are safety products that are non-serviceable and you should not attempt to alter, disassemble or repair them.
The supply of Seat Belt parts is not in accordance with Seat Belt regulations and the validity on an approval is affected by even minor alterations.0 -
...I wonder whether they are right?
One heck of a lot of design, development & testing goes into occupant retraint systems. Don't even contemplate trying to repair one. If damaged or faulty, replace the entire restraint assembly. Best to buy such a critical safety item from a main dealer for the make of vehicle imo.
Ensure it is fitted exactly in line with manufacturer's instructions, including torque requirements. Replace also any bolts that are torqued to yield.
If in any doubt, allow the main dealer to replace the faulty restraint system. You and/or your passengers lives are not worth the risk in getting this wrong."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Oh dear. Thanks for this information . The whole thing was replaced when I bought the car less than a year ago, since then I've obviously done something to damage the webbing. I thought it would be poss to just change that part.
Thanks
