Halifax Ultimate Reward Insurance

Hi,

I was thinking of "upgrading" my account to get the insurances... especially the travel insurance. Maybe I'm missing something, but has the travel insurance included in this account now sneakily changed into travel ACCIDENT insurance... an entirely different and inferior product?

Thanks,

Steve.

Using the first link then looking at Account Benefits, travel insurance and travel accident cover are both listed but seperately.
So looks to me like you get both.

I can't see the travel insurance part in the second detailed link. I'm sure it's there if you've seen it, but I can't find it.... maybe I'm scanning too fast.

Another quick question about this. We are 2 adults, twin 19 year olds and an 18 year old. Would be be able to insure all of us under this policy ( a couple and then children individually maybe?), or would it just apply to children under 18 travelling with parents?

Some of the packaged account policies cover your kids from 18-21 IF they are in full time education. Best to phone their customer services for the ultimate reward account to confirm as halifax might be different

I didn't see it in the second link either but maybe the second link is only updated terms and conditions for what is listed so not everything is there?

If you go to the first link and look at account benefits then look at the Policy booklet both are listed there too.
In the policy booklet it says the following about childrens ages on the Travel insurance....

***Children need to be under 16 or under 23 and in full time education***

I had the same question when I opened my Ultimate Reward Current Account with Halifax and they assured me I am covered for both travel accident and travel insurance itself.

Yeah it has been pretty good actually. Was especially useful to have the RAC Breakdown Cover when my engine blew up on the M2 a few months ago! It is also brilliant because it is personal cover, not vehicle cover, so you can use it whether you're in your own car or someone else's, which is worth £34.50 at the moment on the RAC website.

It is really good value for money, I used to pay £6.95 a month for phone insurance and £7 every time I went on holiday for travel insurance, and considering the monthly fee for the account is £12.50 I made my money back already, plus more! I would definitely recommend it.
