There is a hotel attached to M&Ds called Alona and I think they do packages. Not a good base for sight seeing elsewhere is Scotland. Really need a car for that area.0

yes you would be stranded in Strathy if you stayed there, no buses go near it. No there is a sevice from Glasgow costs £5 i think for a ticket, a special one to the park
And to be honest M&D's is full of neds and not that great anyway. I hate it with a passion. I live near it, avoid like the plague:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

Prestwick airport is in Ayr and while there are bus links to Glasgow that'll involve lots of travelling, (also you may spend as much on bus fares than if you'd booked a dif flight to a dif place iyswim). If you want to see the sights in Glasgow try to get a flight to Glasgow International airport, but if it's Ryanair then Prestwick may be your only choice.
If you are staying for a few days or more why not try Craig Tara holiday park which is in Ayr and you can use your clubcard vouchers here. Look on the Haven website. Ayr itself has a nice beach, Ayr racecourse and a market held in the Racecourse grounds on a Sunday. There is Heads of Ayr Park farm right next door to Craig Tara which our kids love, Electric Brae which is a natural phenomenon (looks like you are travelling uphill when you are free wheeling down and vice versa) and Rabbie Burns Cottage and museum. All these places are a stones throw from Craig Tara, but there is a bus which runs from the site into town quite frequently.
I don't know of much else because there's always enough to keep us busy in the holiday park.
Hope this helps,ffd x
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

If you are going around the Greater Glasgow area get a daytripper ticket- it allows access to major bus companies, subway and trains unlimited after 9am weekdays and all day at weekends. Better value than return train fares and all day bus ticket if you are going out with Glasgow area (ie towards Prestwick!) as the trains are much quicker.0
