What airport in Glasgow are you talking about?

Glasgow Intl. airport isn't really in Glasgow at all, but places like M+D's are about 20-30 mins drive away.

Glasgow Prestwick is a whole other story, but there are trains that run to Glasgow Central from Prestwick.

Glasgow Prestwick isn't too bad I guess, sorry I can't help with the Clubcard thing but there are plenty of hotels and bnb's in Glasgow City Centre and surrounding.

Traings to Glasgow Central station run every 30 mins and take 50mins. When you show your air ticket you also get half price travel.

Prestwick is pretty near Loudon Castle. A local bus will take you to within a few mins walk.

Glasgow is further away but there is a good rail connection.

The Tall Ship (not sure of entrance price) near the SECC is good for kids, there is a train station nearby.
Kelvingrove Museum is free but there is an extra exhibition which is a further charge, think it has to be booked online but you could check availability on the day, its the Dr Who Exhibition which is £18 for family ticket.

Why not look at the Glasgow Council site online which tells you about lots of things that are on, street festivals, etc.

I'm sure they have other links on that site. Might be useful to you.

If you travel into Prestwick you get half price rail travel into Glasgow. Make sure you get a flight that comes in before 10pm as it can take a long time to get through airport systems. Not sure when last train is but last time we used it had to run to catch it. First Scotrail will give you details.
If you stay in the city you can get an all day ticket on the buses but as there are several operators need to check out destination. First bus is by far the biggest but Arriva seems to serve Paisley area.
If you go to Glasgow City Centre on a Saturday there is always a lot of street entertainment.
There is a bus from Buchanan Street to M&D's which is in Strathclyde Park between Motherwell and Hamilton. It's not cheap but check First Bus Glasgow for Details.
There are a lot of budget travelodge type hotels in the city so shouldn't cost you a fortune. Enjoy your break.
  • There's a Holiday Inn in Strathclyde Park , 5 mins walk from M&D's.
