Hello,
my husband and I are planning a short trip to Jersey in August. We have never been before so not quite sure where to base ourselves. Any recommendations on the best town/village?
Thanks

You cannot find a best town/village in Jersey, they are all fabulous in their own right. Take a bus ride round the whole island while you are there, i think there are 12 provinces. Visit the German underground Hospital.
I wont say hope you have a good time. I know you will.
mmm - i am so envious.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you are going to hire a car I would base myself in St Brelades ot St Aubins as this is where most the best beaches are also a good choice of hotels restaurants etc. if you area going to be using public transport it makes sense to stay in St Helier.
Places to visit, St Helier pretty town good shopping. St Aubins, nice harbour good restaurants trendy bars. Portelet Bay beautiful sandy beach but lots of steps down to it.
Ouaisne Bay nice beach Smugglers Inn pub, St Brelades bay sandy beach smart restaurants and hotels. La Corbiere light house, St Ouens bay beautiful five mile beach. Mont Orguiel, Gorey Castle superb fish and seafood restaurants.
Also visit the underground hospital and the glass church at St mathews on the main road between St Helier and St Aubins. The interior has all been designed by Rene Lalique and this unique church is nothing like you would expect but if you are a fanof art deco design or glass you can't miss it.0 -
Thanks both of you for your advice, really looking forward to it0

Stayed here twice about 5 yrs ago https://www.lescharriereshotel.co.uk/ - short taxi ride from the airport then get them to deliver your hire car ex St Helier (non airport rates) the next day0
