happi - think the crux of your problem would be solved by sorting out your router and getting a £10 wireless USB adapter for your pc....waaay cheaper than buying a laptop and, let's face it, you STILL need your router to work properly...
It would be a good idea to post up exactly what the issue is with your router, and maybe we can help get you up and running properly with wireless

I think the OP is under the impression that a wireless laptop will connect directly to the internet without a router. Would be a shame to spend £300 to find out that it won't.
Budget is also unrealistic in terms of screen size-for £300 a 15 inch screen is all you'll get.No free lunch, and no free laptop
