I am using Sky with a Belkin usb adaptor and by and large it has been very good.
Yesterday I had a very, very slow connection and today the usb would not detect my network although it seemed to find other peoples. I reinstalled the usb, no good. Reinstalled Sky and it works fine with the ether cable.
Managed to connect by wireless with an excellent connection, however after a reboot it will not detect my network, all be it it is only 3 foot away. Any thoughts please?

It could be that a neighbour is working on the same RF channel.
Try logging into your router and changing the wireless channel.
From memory.

Thanks, tried it, connected, then disconnected after a few seconds.0

It might be worth looking for up-to-date drivers and software for your Belkin usb adaptor on the Belkin site.0

When you say it connects.... then disconnects are you referring to the icon in the system tray? You may be having problems obtaining an IP address from your router. This could be caused by a number of things but the main issue I have found in the past where it 'appears' connected but isn't is an encryption key problem. Did you change the key when you re-installed? Your windows client may remeber an incorrect key and you will have to manully delete the profile and re-create it. Did you HARD reset the router before re-installing?
Try Changing the key via an ethernet cable connection.
To check if you have an IP address, click start -> Run and type CMD and click ok. Type IPCONFIG and press enter. You will get the basic IP infomation. It may say disconnected for your wireless adapter. Type IPCONFIG /RENEW and press enter. It should go and get an address from your router. (Remember to unplug the ethernet cable)
It could be a conflicting router or 'rouge'. Get yourself a copy of netstumbler (netstumbler.com) and peruse the local area to see who is using what channel. 11 or 6 are the most common.0 -
Thanks for all your help ( as ever). I have also reinstalled my Sky software, changed channels and it seems fine now. Getting about 4 mbps download speed now.0

Pleased it now all works.
Just one point, the 'Sky' software doesn't actually do anything and is not required, unless you want to install Macaffe .
The disk makes a nice coaster though. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
