Can a bank refund a charge 'in branch'?

Hi, can Natwest refund a charge in the branch. I have been charged. It's completely not my fault, and they totally agree (over the phone), and then tell me the money will be reunded within 48 hours. I have had to ring them 3 times (twice to explain, that their 2 previous colleagues i spoke to were full of bs). The last call I made, on thursday, the lady stated the money would be back in no later than Saturday. It's still not in, so i'm off to my main city centre branch to sort it face to face. Ta

Depends on the amount, managerial discretion is limited to £50 otherwise they need further authorisation to refund. They should log a complaint though and give you the complaint reference number otherwise you have to keep ringing and ringing and ringing with a sense of getting nowhere.0
