You wont see your new award until September.
The system doesn't recognise the change until 1st Sept. You may have a lower weekly amount but your annual amount will probably be £547.50 - check it on your notice in September.0 -
I find it just all too stressful filling out these forms and try hard to get things right. It's all just very confusing and as a self-employed I never quite know what to do at renewal time, except keeping my records as clear as possible with all the figures matching with the end of tax year self-assessment.
If I can just find more work and push my income higher, I might as well disappear from their computers all together. After all, the tax office will take back if I earn more, so what's the purpose of getting tax credit anyway?
The problem with disappearing from the system, though, as a disabled self-employed, is that I will find difficult to fund any studies and further training that can help me in finding a steady stream of work and better paid too. Having said that, I've had to fund by myself the recent PTLLS course because I'm only in receipt of the child tax component of tax credit :-( I don't know .... it's just too much at time ....
