Tuesday 9th June - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good Morning everyone
Rather tired today, I didn't sleep very well....no reason, just didn't feel tired!!
Here's my list for today....quiet day really, nothing exciting happening;)

Morning Milly, hope you get good news about your Foundation Degree (I am sure you will), and good morning also to all those who follow (or pip me at the post :rotfl:)
Must start work in a minute, as I have lots of things to prepare for today. Don't have to actually go in to work until about 10 am, but must start off early here. I need to print out loads of stuff, and don't have access to a printer at work as it broke ages ago and hasn't been replaced
I will have a late finish again too - must stop moaning about work - counting the days till I finish current job now. I know there will be some things and people I will miss though!
Apart from work, a small list:
Check online banking (done, as expected)
Chase up mortgage interest statement for which I have been billed and haven't received  - I need it for my tax return
(what a fun-packed life I lead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: )
See to animals and plants (fed noisy cat aready, couldn't stand the noise)
Try for NSD, not difficult normally but I get bored and hungry waiting around at work till after 7. Should be back to normal work hours after the end of this week though, hopefully.
Take food in to work with me.
OH is going to make a curry for supper using ingredients we already have in :T
Try to find time and motivation to go for a walk at lunchtime instead of sitting slumped over computer all the time :j
That is probably all I will have time for - have a nice day everyone :hello:0 -
Morning all!
Up early due to raging cystitis - lovely!
Never mind - will try to get a doctors appointment later today. As a result I'm off work today and can use some time (not spent on the loo!) to put to good use.
So, today's list is...- all meals from home using up stuff in the fridge and freezer
- sort out the bills
- post a letter
- go to Mr T's (will walk) and spend less than £5
- go to see car man to put deposit on new car!!
- shampoo hall carpet
- clean microwave (its manky!)
- check banks
- try to look at student budget for next term (scary, giving up work!)
- hoover car - still not done this and its very dirty thanks to taking the dog to the park multiple times in it

Morning Milly, Dawn, anyone who's beat me and anyone to follow :hello:
Didn't get chance to come on yesterday... the boss is out of the office all week so spent the day doing all my jobs before I have to take all hers on for the next four days. Plus I was absolutely cream-crackered. Still, the listy continues.
Today I have/will:- Surveys and will do them as they come in.
- Checked internet banking. Money is all finally appearing where it should be.
- Check Paypal for focus group payment... should have arrived by Thursday this week and have written in my diary to chase it up should it not arrive.
- Scratchy. Butlins aren't giving me any love recently... 10p again.
- Storecupboard meals. Free drinks at work.
- Charge phone and laptop at work
- Should be a NSD
- Think of ways to get more money to appear this week seeing as it isn't payday until a week on a Friday.
- Attempt to wake up a bit and sparkle.

Good morning guys, thanks for keeping the thread up and running whilst I have been in the land of no internet:rolleyes:
Had an interesting few days over the weekend, which were not very dfw as it involved OH writing off my car on the M6  this was especially annoying as I had just paid out for 4 new tyres and filled the tank up with £40 quids worth of perol so felt a bit  about that. On the postive side we managed to walk away with just sprains and bruises which was amazing considering we were involved in a 3 car pile up on the fast lane, must have had a guardian angel around at the time:A, the highways police, recovery driver and paramedics were all brilliant - can't praise them enough - they do a fantastic job:T:T
Had to fork out £150 quid for a hire car to get where we were going though so not a moneysaving weekend.
Small things I did manage:- replaced all lightbulbs in cottage with energy savers
- used recycled newspaper logs on the fire
- recycled packaging off new appliances to recycle bank
- made a cold frame with the plastic sheeting from new sofa
- bought a pack of turkey pieces and made meals for weekend - curry with a 7p curry sauce, pasta, rice.
- made raised beds from some very cheap decking planks
- was given some free range eggs from neighbours for brekkies
- fed all the foodscraps to the birds
Hope everyone is okay, hugs to those who need one.
Good luck with UCAS milly:T
Catch up with you all later, will see what I can manage today xxx0 -
