I am a fan of keeping the kitchen uncluttered and having recently done my kitchen then these are the bits that have really made a difference:

Waste/recycling bin integrated into a 500mm base unit

Waste disposal unit (by getting rid of the food waste into it then the other waste goes into the above bins and we never get any smells)

Integrated microwave so it is not looking untidy sitting on a worktop

Fridge with integrated ice / chilled water dispenser

Embed speakers into the ceiling or provide speaker outlets above some of the wall units so that you can have music / radio surrounding you in the kitchen. I mounted a Pinnacle Internet Radio (£50) under a wall unit and now we can listen to the radio or stream MP3s. We also have colour phasing lights above the wall units that can change to the music for the kids.

Things I don't have but would have liked are:

    integrated coffee machine from Gaggea

Seperate griddle plate embedded in the worktop

A flip out toaster that sits under a wall cupboard but can be pulled out when required. We use it daily so it stays out but looks untidy (don't think these exist so feel free to invent one)

That reminds me that I looked into the 3 way taps that produce hot/cold and boiling water.

I wanted one so that I could get rid of the kettle but you are effectively keeping a container of water at boiling point so unless you used 10-15 kettles per day then it was not efficient enough to consider.

CK - the OP said BBQ not B&Q lol

OP - If you are wanting a built in BBQ type thing, the Gaggenau Teppanyaki is fantastic, and you can make a nice cooking are by combining it with induction/gas/wok hobs...

OOPS! It was the mention of Electrolux as well that didn't help!:D

Hi Mackiem, No problem, we have done a few Quooker taps as well.

If you're asking about Alno then that's a whole new thread! - There are better German kitchens out there!

Happy to help when ever you want.

Cost price of these to the retailer is £462.87 inc. VAT, that's one hell of a mark up...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Deep pan drawers - not a gadget, but well worth the money.

Self cleaning oven - what can be better than an appliance that cleans itself!!
