See Tickets - really not amused!!!

I bought 2 tickets for the Capital Radio Summertime Ball from See Tickets at the end of April. I already took up with them the fact they hadnt pointed out the difference between these particular tickets and the premium tickets which enabled access to the area at the front of the stage, and Ticketmaster when selling these tickets clearly pointed out the location and the fact the view may be restricted.
They agreed that they had failed to do this, and refunded me the booking fee and postage costs (£14) but said the view shouldnt be restricted given the fact that these tickets were standing therefore we should be in a position where we were able to see.
Oh how wrong they were!!!!!!!
We queued for 7 and a half hours and were the first people into the enclosure, therefore we were in the best place it was possible to be in that enclosure, and we quickly discovered the view was seriously restricted. The performers were just tiny figures on the faraway stage and we had to watch the big screens rather than the stage to be able to see, which we thought defeated the object completely. There had been something on the website about the view being restricted on some of the higher up seats but its evident theres been a total breakdown in communication somewhere as they claimed there were only 106 tickets released for the premium area which was rubbish because there was well in excess of 500 people in there!!!
We also had a friend with us from Germany who had purchased a ticket from them, when she had not recieved her ticket a week before she rang them to ask where it was and they said they werent prepared to send it out to her due ot her living overseas (despite the fact it clearly says on the website they will send to overseas addresses) and she would have to pick it up from the box office with the original credit card used to make payment.
She told them this wasnt possible due to the fact her father paid for the ticket with his credit card and she couldnt bring it with her, but all they said to her was tough - no card, no ticket, no entry. Her English can be a bit shaky at times so one of us rang them and they reluctantly said if she could provide ID and the last four digits of the card she could have her ticket, but only after we pointed out to them that there was no reason for them not to post the ticket to her.
We are absolutely fed up to the back teeth with all the lies we had from See. It got to the stage where we said if we had known the view was so restricted we wouldnt have bothered going.
Question is, what is the best thing for us to do now? These tickets were obviously restricted view and this wasnt pointed out, therefore we feel as if they have been mis-sold. How do we approach this with See?
Thanks,
Mrs_R xx

Well, last year I bought a ticket to see McCartney at Anfield. I was one of the first lot of people chosen from a ballot to be able to buy tickets. I paid for my premium seats and THEN when the tickets arrived 8 months later (I booked in October and the show was in June the next year), I find they're for a completely different section; they bumped the first lot of premium ticket holders into an area previously sold as general admission seating for £40 less. I went to trading standards and mentioned various rights and that the tickets contravened the sale of goods act, were not fit for purpose, not as described....plus it was the 08 Capital Of Culture and there had been lots of mess with this show in the papers as it was....they soon got their finger out and reseated me in the section I was originally expected to be in.
So ring customer services (get the 0115 prefix number off Saynoto0870.com), and do battle, armed with your rights, mentioning trading standards were interested in what you had to say to them....0 -
thanks Flickering Ember. I have already reported them to Trading Standards, the nice lady I spoke to at Consumer Direct said that she would let them know about it as it definitely wasnt acceptable. I had such an awful experience when I rang them last time think I will fire off a letter in the morning (sent recorded delivery of course) and see what rubbish they fob me off with!
And balls of steel - we were standing. This is what the whole issue is - we were happy to pay more and would have if See had bothered to point out that there was better standing tickets available which they have already admitted they failed to do....*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
