wireless connected but page cannot be displayed

hi all, please can you help?

my partners laptop says it's connected to the bt hub, but when i try and open a web page it says page cannot be displayed. two ther laptops work fine with it at home. and his laptop works fine on the wireless at work:mad:

i've had this before and someone helped me tweak some settings that sorted it but i've forgotton what they were. please can someone help?

it's like internet explorer is not registering the bb conection.

  • Is it connected to your BT hub? I imagine it probably is, but just a quick check!

    First major suggestion I can come up with is, does it work with another browser? If so, try doing a reset of IE. Firefox or google chrome are good browsers to try out.

    If its anything like my work laptop you will need to change the "Proxy" settings in internet explorer.

    open up IE got to tools, internet options, connections, Lan Settings, then uncheck the Proxy Server box and select Automatically detect settings.

    Hope this works for you.
