So what happens when I get a fine then???:o
You go home and write out 1,000 times "Private companies cannot issue fines. I must stop calling them fines on the MSE forum".

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Well this morning I noticed a lot of cars had those sticky pockets stuck to the windscreen and was relieved that I didn't. Although I have the permit displayed I can never get to my own bay so I parked right at the back in someone else's bay and wasn't sure whether that would leave me liable.

I have only just got home tonight to find a lot of cars parked in the street, and my bay free for the first time in about a month :D
    I really hope it's not a coincidence!

I also noticed the sign in the entrance about the bollards being erected on the dock side - I have to confess to being quite pleased about that as well since someone parks a car right under my balcony and lets the alarm go off every five minutes right through the night at weekends. I'm sure the alarm will continue to go off, but at least now it will be in the car park or on the street rather than practically in my lounge ;)

Crikey, if it's as bad as you say, I'm surprised anyone wanted to buy there!

I was a bit surprised when I found myself moving in Sarah! The flats are gorgeous (albeit in a Victorian Women's Prison sort of way), but as they are a converted warehouse and mill they are in an industrial location that, if I'm honest, bears a passing resemblance to Beirut.

The parking situation is pretty dire because there are no visitors' spaces, but I've lived in a lot of different flats and have never been allocated more than one space per flat.

Sam - have you looked at the old Chelsea Reach? I briefly considered them and not only do you just get allocated one space there but each space has its own lockable bollard to stop anyone else parking there!

If you know any of your neighbours don't have a car could you rent their permit? This worked when I lived in a flat where a lot of the other tenants were pensioners - there may be some scope here (although all the neighbours I know have at least one car, you never know!).

    Hi Robbo,

Have thought about the Chelsea but I dont think so, the only reason i came here was cos me and a friend decided to live together for the company and to be honest did not realise about the parking before we moved in, its made me feel a bit down this situation....
Thats good news about the bollards for you, we are right at the top and hear nothing woo hoo!:rotfl:
Like I said get rid of all parking numbers etc.... and let people park where they want...visitors etc!
