Hello all at MSE!
Moved into a new house and just sorting things out.
Now I'm not usually easily defeated by the internet and google searching but because DIY is nowhere near my fort!, I'm having to surrender being the 20 year old tax dodging student who hasn't experimented to much with the world of do it yourself! I'm not even sure what to search, and despite my innovative alternatives for the word 'switch', I'm getting nowhere.
So I've resorted to the forest of expertise! MSE
BASICALLY:
What we're after is a light switch to replace a current faulty one.
The current one. Is two turny things (dimmers). However when you use one of them the light flickers, and we don't even want to dim them lights. We just want them to go on and off.
So what I was wondering, and I thought surely must exist somewhere. Is a two switch light thing we can buy. Where one is a dimmer, and the other is an off/on state.
To complicate it further it has to be brass. But price is no real objection as I'm not buying
. If you can point me in the right direction, give me a link, or just the name of the product I'm after. I'd appreciate it alot!
Thanks all,
Matt

You need to be looking at a "grid" type system, like the MK "Logic Plus Grid", where the separate elements of each switch (1 "gang" or more) can be changed. This allows you to have a normal on/off switch next to a dimmer etc. They have a range of different plate finishes and styles, including brass etc.
