I am looking for a reasonable quality printer that is cheap to run basically
I don't do a lot off printing ie photo's but if the quality was good i probably would
I have a lexmark x2250 at the moment but the inks are just no good and pretty expensive
I will need scanner as i do a fair bit off copying and space is no limited to run a seperate

Thanks for your reply
I have looked at the Kodak but some off the magazine review are saying because the colour cartridge is multi that they need changed more often
Do you have a Kodak yourself and if so what are your thoughts

We've got an Easyshare 5100 here. It's slow to start up, slow to shut down and shakes the trolley it sits on whilst printing. Worse still, it doesn't work with Linux. On the upside printing is usually fairly quick, the photographic prints look great and the cartridges don't cost much either. The compatibles we've been using thus far cost even less, and contain more ink to boot.
If you're still interested, here's a review of its successor, the ESP 3.0 -
Thanks again
Both links where very useful

You can get an Epson DX 4450 3 in 1 printer/scanner/copier for less than £40 and replacement inks for £1.25 each (4 in total) I'm chuffed with mine!0

If you can print you colour pics when you go shopping next you can pay about 7p each - much cheaper than running your own printer. But a B/W laser for documents. 3:1 units scan in colour too.
ie printer start up costs + inks + paper0
