very weary of seller

ive bought something yesturday on a buy it now,it was a right bargain
anyway after checking today what else they have sold, dont know why i checked just had a feeling as it was so cheap,
they have sold this thing twice:confused:
and have numerous other things with maybe 3 or 4 of the same items all cheap and have sold straight away were only talking around £15 each item so i cant see it being a scammer their feedback is 33
just very odd i do hope my gut feeling is wrong as i really want the item, only time will tell

Is it like a one-off unique item or an easily mass-obtained item?

Maybe they have sold and had to cancel transaction or something? I've sold the same xbox controller 3 times now, after the 1st buyer was trying to haggle and refused to pay the full price!

2nd time, this was a second chance offer, the buyer returned the item complaining of a fault.

3rd time - Sold as faulty on B.I.N and for a lot cheaper - buyer was over the moon and said there is no fault after all!!!
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
  • its a private seller
so who would have 2 of the same game to sell
the same goes with the other items not just games, clothes etc

My mam ( the avid ebayer ) usually has a few of the same items to sell, she knows theres a market for it, so why not ?

A lot of sellers test the water before upgrading to a business account and retain their private seller status in the early days. The main thing to look at is is feedback in terms of positives, if he has several positive feedback on the same item he must have multiple identical items to sell, otherwise he would not have the positive feedback, not many people leave feedback before actually receiving the goods and the chance of several independent people leaving the positive feedback before realising they had been scammed is slim to none.

I often sell books on Ebay. If I sell a book and it goes for a good price, I'll look out for more copies - so it would'nt be unusual for me to have more than one copy for sale at the same time. I don't see that computer games would be any different...
No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!:D

    Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target :(

That's my thoughts too, my BF and I do a lot of carboots, both selling and buying, and if he finds any games cheap he buys them, and any repeats of ones he's already got he sells on, so maybe the seller in this case is doing something similar.

As an aside, it's it awful that we've got to the stage with ebay that we routinely question the motives of both sellers and buyers?? Luckily I've never come up against any problems...yet!!

  • well my gut instinct was right,
ive been watching what this person has been selling and buying, omg they bought so much in such a short space of time
and sold the same things over and over
logged into ebay just now and it says
this user is no longer registered on ebay and you have been refunded:eek:
is there anything else i should worry about now?
i wish i was wrong about this, but i guess you should trust your instincts
