I am doing some redecorating living room and stairs and am just about finished with preparation , having washed down paintwork, rubbed it down and cleaned all the dust off , then undercoated. I intend on painting all the walls before top coating all the doors , woodwork and radiators. Today I got fed up with undercoating and thought I would top coat the loft hatch surround as the ceiling painting is finished, its been prepared the same as everything else but when I had finished glossing it looks awful its all patchy and look as though its just the undercoat.. I am using Dulux White Gloss and its really awful, looks alright as it goes on but now it looks like I haven't painted it...
Is it the paint ? is Dulux rubbish? any ideas folks and if it is the paint any suggestions for a white gloss that actually looks bright and white not patchy and dull? thanks....

Have you only done one coat? Lightly sand it and do it again!!
I've never gotten away with only one gloss coat.0 -
Hiya
Try a trade paint instead? Dulux (or indeed anyone's) trade paints have less extenders than retail paint, so you use less & coverage is much better.
