Refund

Hi All, I bought a dress for my girlfriend as a present only last Friday and gave her it Saturday when she came to mine. As normal it was wrong and she didnt like it. She took it back to the shop today and explained that i had bought it and that she wanted to find something else. She looked around and didnt find anything she liked so she asked for a refund, they refused as she didnt have a reciept and i cant find it (proberbly in the bin). The dress was only £25 and i paid cash. She has brought the dress home with her now and is in the wardrobe never to be worn.
Was she entiltled to a cash refund?

The shop is only a small town street outlet and not a major store.

Thanks

Nope, not if there was nothing wrong with it, and if their own policy said they do refunds you'd need proof or purchase.

Even if there was something wrong with it they're not even required to offer you an exchange. Because you have no proof of purchase.
