garage door help

Hi...
just buying a house this week where the garage door is as old as the ark & the opening machenism has 2 large weights which seem to counter balance the door. Either side of the door there is a metal peg that runs in some runners but the metal pegs keep coming out of the runners & make a horrible grouching noise when opening...
I'm wondering if there should be wheels/rubbers on the end of these pegs...anyone got a similar type of door or know what I'm on about?
thanks

Yes, I'm pretty sure they should have wheels on them to help slide up and down.
You might be able to get replacements from some where like HERE.0 -
