As has been mentioned the campervan site is right at the bottom of the camping area hopefully this pic might give you an idea of the set up. The campervan area is circled red. The pic is from 2007 but the layout has pretty much stayed the same just a few slight changes.
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0 -
As mention in OP first timer
Does anyone have any survival tips for the weekend???
an idiots guide would be good :rotfl:0 -
Take your own supply of loo roll, antibac hand gel, a camping chair, sunhat, sunlotion, waterproofs, fleece. T in the park can have all weathers in one day so bring clothes for all weathers. Sometimes they give out ponchos when its bad weather. Do not leave anything valuable in your camp, did you get organised with a campervan? There are lockers in the campsite but Im not sure if they have to be prebooked, they also have mobile phone chargers in them.
You can buy tokens for alcohol which now last the whole weekend (used to be they were only redeemable on the day you bought them).Keep your tokens safe, I found a pile on the ground last year that somebody had dropped and they must have been too drunk to notice. Keep your beer cup, for every clean and undamaged one you return for recycling you get 10p. Take an empty water bottle to fill up at the water-stand-pipes which are dotted round the site. Soft drinks are expensive. Take some wee snacks in your bag, food is expensive. There are loads of different eating places from your usual burger vans to the brilliant 'healthy t' where you can buy organic burgers, fresh fruit, porridge and loads more. The queues are busy but worth the wait.
There should be plenty of info on the tin the park website and possibly you could have a look on efestivals, there is bound to be some chat on there about it.
Don't just watch the bands on the main stages, King Tuts tent has some great bands on and the T break tent is great for new bands, there's also a BBC introducing stage and a ceilidh tent. For the very brave there is the slam tent but to be honest it scares me!!!!
You will have a brilliant time, just take it easy and get your bearings as its a big site. There are plenty of areas where you can ask for help from stewards and the site is well policed, they are usually very good humoured.

don't forget to 'hide' your bottle top if you want to keep it- we had ours confiscated a few years ago despite the bottles being empty. i find down my top was particularly useful. alternatively you could try and mimic one experienced T friend who removed the bag from a box of wine and stuffed it down her trousers- a little extreme for my liking :cool:when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it0 -
Never seen them do that, taking your bottle top off you for your water bottle. Just means you have to spend more money buying another bottle in the arena for a rediculous price. You used to be able to take full bottles of water in as long as the lid hadn't been opened but they seem to take anything with liquid off you these days.
I've heard of alot of people doing the bag of wine trick down the trousers with a jumper wrapped round their middle. There's lots of threads about T in the Park on efestivals, definitely worth a wee look for any other hints and tips.0 -
Thanks everyone
Still have managed to get a campervan or mobile home sorted yet!!!! Typically the price for this time of year doubles and then if you tell them its for T in the Park they ask for a heft deposit....AGGGGGH
My mood varies from day to day, i think hell just go for it an make the most of it , but then i worry about it and the camping or about being stuck in the car in traffic.......0 -
thanks mattjimf, Just joined efestival, some good info on there.
A lot the posts referring to disabled stuff is from last few years, hope things have improved, but loads of good stuff otherwise0 -
Also this Sunday's News of the World has a guide thing that was typically in the Sunday Mail, detailing acts, map and other stuff, and by the looks of it the campervan site has moved across the road.
Also not sure if if you've had a look around the official site but there is a page for special needs, the map will probably appear on the site as well at some point next week.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0 -
