Old night storage heater bricks

Hi,

Does anyone know if all old night storage heaters contain the same tyoe of bricks? We have used the bricks from ours to make a small patio (turned flat way up they look like expensive terracotta tiles!). We now want to expand the paved area, however I don't really want to go to the time, trouble and expense of getting old heaters only to find they have a different sort of brick inside!

Anyone out there know??

The storage heaters that were in my house contained "bricks" made of metal, hollow and filled with what looked like gravel...doesn't sound as attractive as yours!

I would have thought there are different shaped and sized bricks in different storage heaters. Be careful as some older storage heaters (roughly before 1980s) contain asbestos wool and blocks as insulating material.

Hi,

maybe if you offered to take old heaters away for folks, you could dismantle until you get what you want, you may end up with a pile of rubbish, but if you can get it to the dump easily and you don't mind the effort could be worthwhile.

Would think there's always folks wanting rid of old heaters after changing their heating.
