I'd first do a completed listings check on ebay and see what they sell for and then if they're worth the effort and cost of posting, then I would use ebay for as many as possible. If they don't sell or aren't worth enough then I would do a carboot.
It also depends on whether you want the space or the money...I usually want both and so combine ebay and the carboot.
hope this helps

I think butler_helen makes a good point. Maybe the better/newer items put on ebay and rest go to the carboot. Could maybe do a toy lot on ebay and could do pick up only?New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0 -
if lots of them could start at 99p, I dont think you pay the listing fee. Although if they're higher value I would work out what you would pay in fees and also ensure if you need to post, that the postage is plausable. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

I would reckon you could get more for them on ebay than you would at a car boot as people go to these to get things as cheaply as possible and always haggle.
You then feel obliged to take something off the price and end up letting the item go for less than you really wanted to.I'd rather be playing Squash!

Personally, I think it depends on who your stuck at the Car Boot sale with- it can make all the difference as to if a paid listing is worth it!0

Hi I have recently sold things on a car boot and got higher price then I would have on ebay, and got rid of them same day.For instance I sold a brand new remote control F1 car for £30.People tried to knock me down for £20.The line I used was "I'm not bothered if it goes today as I know I'll put it on ebay and get at least £30 for it". It soon went as all the kids were driving parents mad! I looked on ebay and there going on there for about £30 + p&p.Also sold and old tent for £20 at car boot, used the ebay speil on that as well!Would have been lucky to have got a fiver on ebay with all the competition! I definatley think the speil about ebay works! Hope this has helped.0

alternatively I would just think 'blooming sell it on ebay then' and not buy it at all.
it's a risk you take. Although I think with things that can get broken in transit the carboot might be the best option if none of the toys are really of high value. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
You could always try an NCT Nearly New sale if there's one on near you. You have to give around a third of the sale price to the NCT and you need to register first and tag evey item but I've done quite well from these in the past and toys and baby equipment in particular sell well so they can be a better bet than Ebay or car boots.0
