How long is long enough?

A group of friends (all adults), my wife and I are looking to go to Novia Scotia in a couple of months time. We're going to stop in a holiday cottage not too far from Halifax. Has anyone been to the area before and how long would you recommend going for? Will there be too much to fit into a week? Whale watching is a must do for my friend if its in season and we all want to explor the city but we cant estimate costs until we know how long we want to go for - any advise?
Thank you in advance.

I havn't been to the area before but I can give my opinion about holiday lengths. I always find that one week isnt long enough to see everything you want to see. Yet 2 weeks is a bit too long. So a 10 day holiday is usually about right for me. Thats just my opinion anyway.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Look at the Tripadvisor forums and maybe ask your question there.
Or look at Fodors Talk for similar.0 -
depends on how much there is to do0

I'd go for about 9/10 days and add a trip to other parts of Quebec.

London (LHR)

Terminal 3 to St. John's (YYT)
Arrive 14:05 Duration: 5hr 30min
