Can't get rid of 'Praetorians' game from add/remove programmes

We have a very slow running pc and have been looking to see if we can remove some old/rarely used programmes from it. An Eidos game (Pretorians) is listed as taking up 480mb so we decided to remove it.
However, when we click on the change/remove button (via Control Panel - Add/remove programmes) we get the InstallShield Wizard, then the programme comes up with a box saying 'do you want to uninstall?'. On clicking yes, we get a countdown line which just says 0% momentarily and then that whole page disappears, leaving the programme still listed on the add/remove programmes page in the control panel.
We have tried getting rid by inserting the game CD and exactly the same happens.
The game is not listed though in the 'All programmes' list (from the start button) so I'm wondering if it has already been uninstalled. If so why is it still coming up in the control panel?
Can anyone help?
