Let's hope they take plenty of footballers down with them.0

Just cancelling the DD is generally the worst way to cancel anything because you're only stopping paying, not terminating the contract. Something which Setanta made as difficult as possible. Until recently it was something like you had to write in (no email) and give 60 days notice, but notice it would only start on the next billing date after receipt of your letter so many people were having to pay 2-3 months more after deciding to cancel. There's a huge thread on it somewhere on here.
Add to that the generally crap picture quality, poor commentators and pundits, high unimaginative pricing and evidently a failed business model and it's no suprise they've used up many people's and companies/clubs goodwill.0 -
As a customer who has it on a virgin 'package' i've not had to deal with their supposedly awful customer services, but I'm at a loss as to why Setantas so hated apart from this? I much prefer their coverage to Sky's, but then again I don't support any of the 'big four'.
Their poor customer service and the 60 day cancellation period, although I think they were forced to change this after being on Watchdog a few times.0 -

I disagree to some extent wrt "cancelling the DD is generally the worst way to cancel anything".
Ideally follow the T&C's, but if they are so awkward or onerous as to impractical, then email them [at any email address you can lay you hands on] and cancel the dd.
Stopping the money tends to focus their minds on the matter in hand!!! lol
In addition, for them to sue you for breach of contract would be unlikely as 1. it costs them money and 2. They haven't actually suffered a 'loss' as a result of you cancelling.
Don't let companies p155 you around - fight back!!0 -
Couldn't have happened to a nicer company :T, I've dealt with some poor customer service departments, however they are the only ones who I have ever had threaten me in a personal manner before:mad: worst thing being, that as soon as you laughed at them and challenged them they cut you off, wouldn't even give me my 30 seconds of pleasure telling them what I think of them!:rotfl:0

I for one am SO glad they will go bust, awful, awful company, shafted me left right and centre when I tried to cancel, eventually did,but they took more payments out first!!

Already suggestions ESPN are happy to bail them out in return for some sort of deal on broadcasting rights.
Sky have refused to lend them 59 million pounds, to bail them outOwing on CC £00.00 :j

Probably because they would not be able to show the games due to licensing rights so no benefit.yoxford2008 wrote: »Sky have refused to lend them 59 million pounds, to bail them out0 -
